They say laughter is the best medicine, and there’s no better place to get your dose than the 27th Annual PDX Adult Soapbox Derby at Mount Tabor Park on Saturday, August 15! Gather with neighbors to cheer on local teams as they pilot custom-built, gravity-powered cars down the curves of an extinct volcano. From sleek, surprisingly fast speedsters to utterly hilarious, over-the-top art pieces, it’s a day full of pure, joyful spectacle. Pack a picnic blanket, grab a cold drink or local bite from the park vendors, and enjoy an afternoon guaranteed to keep you smiling—because taking time to laugh and soak in a little quirky community spirit is truly good for the soul!

Meet our August pet of the month, meet Gino, Kearney Plaza’s most photogenic resident! At 10 years young, this handsome guy is a former sweater model who hasn't lost an ounce of his star quality. Gino absolutely loves strikes a pose and having his photo taken—so if you catch him strutting through the building in style, be sure to give him a wave (and maybe ask for an autograph)!
